Alan Rivaldo has been the Cyber Security Analyst at the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC) since 2009.
The PUC is the state agency in Texas charged with fostering competition, protecting customers and promoting the high quality infrastructure needed for the delivery of electricity and telecom services.
In his role at the PUC, Alan makes recommendations and advises the Commission and staff in proceedings involving: Cyber Security for electric utilities, the deployment of electric vehicles, Smart Grid planning, energy assurance, emergency management and service quality. He is on the PUC's Emergency Management Response Team, and is tasked with testing cyber security and emergency preparedness.
Prior to his work in the public sector, Alan spent most of his career as a Sr. Controls Engineer, and has also held a variety of positions in IT, including incident management, security validation, and end-user support.
Mr. Rivaldo is a member of InfraGard of Central Texas, and holds an MBA in Technology Management from Rochester Institute of Technology (Rochester, NY), as well as B.S. degrees in both Information Technology and in Electrical Engineering.
